Anti-Ageing/Beauty > Fillers-Restylane Treatment

SPECIAL OFFER ; 10% OFF FIRST TREATMENT -FILLERS & BTX

These are used to fill out the unwanted facial lines and eliminates facial wrinkles
Resylane is a filler, it is a clear gel form of hyaluronic acid that occurs naturally in your body. Since its launch in 1996, Restylane has been used safely in over 4 million treatments, in more than 70 countries worldwide.

Restylane is used to enhance your looks, it is a completely natural substance which is used to achieve a visible long lasting younger look.

As we age, our own hyaluronic acid becomes less efficient, leading to loss of facial volume and increasing ageing. By adding volume to the skin, Hyaluronic injectable treatments will immediately transform your fine-lines or deep creases, furrows, wrinkles, scars or other skin depressions allowing you to look natural, younger and more relaxed. These treatments add volume without changing the natural expression of the face

Restylane gives you a much younger look , supporting the skins natural structure works to delay the signs of ageing

  • Softens and lifts the skin
  • Fills out facial lines

How long will it last?

Restylane will keep the effect for 4- 6 months By adding volume to the skin, Hyaluronic injectable treatments will immediately transform your fine-lines or deep creases, furrows, wrinkles, scars or other skin depressions allowing you to look natural, younger and more relaxed. These treatments add volume without changing the natural expression of the face. As we age, the amount of this natural substance we produce in our skin decreases, resulting in drier skin and increased wrinkles.

How does the Dermal filler work?

Composed mostly of water, the body accepts the hyaluronic gel readily and only forms a thin membrane around the implant which helps to keep it in place; as the gel is very elastic it moves with all facial expressions.

The water content of the hyaluronic is exchanged with surrounding tissue fluid, providing a natural implant. The hyaluronic is injected just under the skin using a very fine needle, where it immediately adopts its long-lasting shape.
The most frequent requests for temporary fillers are:  for smoothing out the deep furrows between the nose and mouth (Nasolabial Folds)
below the mouth (Oral Commissures and Marionette Creases)
the vertical creases or frown lines between the eyebrows (Glabella Creases or angry lines)
lip enhancing or reshaping is not only for beautification but also to remove the vertical creases above the top lip (lipstick bleeding lines or smoker's lines) and to turn up "down-turning lips" which give a sad expression

Is there any downtime?

No. The injection requires no surgery, is almost painless, can be performed as an out-patient procedure, and requires no recovery time and minimal post injection attention.
1 out of 1500 patients have a risk of developing transient swelling and tenderness near injection sites which, if not caused by an infection, will resolve in a couple of weeks.

What are the possible side effects?

Temporary fillers are generally well tolerated with few side effects other than those associated with the total volume of product injected into a confined plane in the skin.

The side effects of temporary filler treatments may include swelling, pain, redness, itching, discolouration, tenderness and occasional bruising. Swelling is the most likely effect because temporary filler attracts the body's own water to the area. Other side effects may include minor lumps, which usually resolve and smooth out quickly during the week.

Typically, resolution is spontaneous within a few days after injection

When do I see the results?

The injectable filler provides immediate and long-lasting results.

How many treatments do I need?

You will see a result with your first treatment, and top ups can be undertaken at any time.

How long does the treatment take?

Depending on the area, treatment usually takes just a few minutes. The area will be treated prior with a topical anaesthetic and post treatment with ice to reduce any potential swelling.

How long will the results last?

Treatment will last 6 to 12 months depending on your metabolism. Because skin ageing is progressive, if required, extra injections can be conducted to maintain / obtain the desired result. Longevity will also depend on the area treated.

Is it safe?

Very! Used since 1996, on over 2,000,000 treatments, these products have a proven track record, in the hands of experienced physicians.
Temporary fillers are generally well tolerated with very few side effects. Side effects are usually injection related and transient such as swelling, redness, pain, itching, discolouration, and tenderness at the implant site. These typically resolve spontaneously within one to two days after injection into the skin and within a few days after injection into the lips.

Who can have this treatment?

Be sure to inform your physician if you have had cold sores (herpes labialis) around the mouth at any time in the past. If you have an active outbreak, your treatment will need to be postponed.
Active acne, psoriasis or other skin condition will be assessed by the doctor before treatment.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, you should not be treated.
Be sure to inform your physician of any allergies that you may have.

Post Treatment Care

Do not expose the treated zone to intense heat (sun bed, sunbathing) or extreme cold in the first days following treatment. The purpose of this is to avoid inflammation of the zone where the injection has been made.
The area should be kept clean and touching of the area avoided for the first few days after treatment.
Any discomfort should respond to paracetamol. Should any problem arise it is important to contact the treating physician. There are no contraindications to the use of temporary fillers and the precautions are mainly those that should be observed for any intradermal injection.

Are There any contraindications?

Reactions thought to be of hypersensitivity nature have been reported in about one in every 2,000 treatments. These have consisted of swelling and induration at the implant site, sometimes with oedema in the surrounding tissues. Redness, tenderness and, rarely, acne-form papules may also occur. The reactions have started either shortly after injection or after a delay of 2 to 4 weeks and have generally described as mild to moderate, and self-limiting with an average duration of two weeks. In pronounced cases a short course of oral corticosteroids may prove effective. In addition, rare cases (less than 1 in 15,000 treatments) of granuloma formation, superficial necrosis and urticaria have been reported.

What will I look like if I decide against further treatment? Will I be more wrinkled?

No! You will be less wrinkled! You will have delayed wrinkles and age lines!

The skin will return to its original state if you decide against further treatments but the filling and plumping effect on the skin will have delayed further development of wrinkles, had the temporary fillers treatment not intervened.

So you will have delayed the development of age lines, by not further squeezing your skin collagen tissue out of the base of your creases and wrinkles.

Can I go straight back to work after treatment?

Yes, but for a first treatment it is probably better to schedule your appointment for the end of the day. Filling around the naso-labial area and under the angles of the mouth, usually produces little downtime, depending on the amount of temporary fillers used. Filling of scars and depressions settles within a few hours.

If you are having lip enhancements your lips may be swollen for 1-3 days. Clients with softer, younger lips, in their twenties or thirties, will recover quickly, often the next day.

Clients in their forties and fifties wanting lip enhancement, should preferably fill them in small stages, progressively over several sessions. This gradually stretches the age-scar lines in the lips and makes the enhancement more comfortable.

What happens to the gel over time?

Although the gel particle size differs amongst the available products, the overall NASHA gel (Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid - Hyaluronic that does not come from animals) concentration is identical: 20 mg/ml stabilized HA (Hyaluronic Acid: A substance found in the connective tissue of the body that cushions and lubricates. Hyaluronic acid also creates volume in the face, giving it a healthy, youthful appearance). This concentration has been carefully selected to provide optimal maintenance of volume for tissue augmentation and lifting.

An important advantage of this non-animal stabilized product used in all our injectable products is its prolonged residence time in the tissues. However, like other biodegradable implants, it is slowly broken down after injection. With conventional biodegradable implants, this has the disadvantage that the implant progressively shrinks and the aesthetic benefit therefore quickly diminishes. Uniquely, with Hyaluronic products, the slow bio-degradation of the stabilized hyaluronic does not lead to gradual shrinkage.

As the NASHA is degraded, each molecule progressively binds more water, more free water binding sites per molecule. This process is called isovolemic degradation. Thus, with temporary fillers, volume is maintained until the stabilized gel is almost completely degraded. When the gel is completely degraded, the remaining hyaluronic acid fragments are metabolized together with the natural tissue Hyaluronic acid, and no trace of the original filler remains.

The products are isovolemically degraded. This means that they can hold more water the less concentrated they are. This ensures efficacy, safety and long-lasting results.

Lip sculpting

Many patients want fuller lips, a more pouting look or enhancement of the vermilion border (the area where the red or pink lip border meets the skin). Lip augmentation can be divided into two steps:
Contouring and Pouting & Fullness.
To achieve pouting and/or fullness, both the medium and thicker gel can be used.
To augment the vermilion border and/or to define the philtrum ridges (the vertical groove in the upper lip or ‘smokers lines’), the medium gel is recommended.
