Dental Laser is now being used worldwide in the top dental clinics in the world.

We use it in Longwood House for 3 main treatments-

Facial pain/ TMJ pain relief
Healing of mouth ulcers

The laser treatment can be added to your dental hygiene appointments and improve the results.

"The laser used is safe and effective in many dental treatments. Our patients have benefitted from having much less pain and discomfort then the conventional methods- and we have found that the healing after its use is also quicker. It does not cost much more to have laser then the conventional methods and the benefits are greater." Dr Tasleem Ahmed.

Laser is clinically proven to treat gum disease, painful ulcers and facial and TMJ joint pain. Patients treated with laser energy simply recover more quickly.

WHAT IS GUM DISEASE?

Gum disease is an infection of the tissues that surround and support your teeth. It is a major cause of tooth loss in adults. Because gum disease is usually painless, you may not know you have it. Gum disease is caused by plaque, the sticky film of bacteria that is constantly forming on our teeth.

HERE ARE SOME WARNING SIGNS THAT CAN SIGNAL A PROBLEM:

  • Gums that bleed easily
  • Red, swollen, tender gums
  • Gums that have pulled away from the teeth
  • Persistent bad breath or bad taste
  • Permanent teeth those are loose or separating
  • Any change in the way your teeth fit together when you bite
  • Any change in the fit of partial dentures

WHAT IS TMJ FACE PAIN?

TMJ- is the shortened name given to the joint just in front of your ears. This joint is a hinge that allows your lower jaw to move in all directions. This joint can become infected or inflamed and cause severe pain. Laser can be used on any face muscle to remove the tenderness experienced – even where a painkiller does not help.

HERE ARE SOME WARNING SIGNS THAT CAN SIGNAL A PROBLEM:

  • Pain close to the ears or headache
  • Clicking noise near the ears when you open your mouth
  • Locking of the jaws
  • Tooth ache where the dentist confirms that the tooth is ok
  • Worn down or broken teeth
  • Any change in the way your teeth fit together when you bite
  • Neck ache and shoulder pain.
